How the banner exchange works.

Sputnik Signal is a free banner exchange run by Sputnik Digital. You show other members' banners on your website to earn credits, and you spend those credits showing your own banners on their websites. No money changes hands.

  1. Join for free

    Register with a website to exchange banners, or just to advertise. Nobody buys credits, and website owners are not paid in cash.

  2. Verify your email

    When you verify your email, your account gets 10,000 welcome credits. One credit pays for one showing of your banner.

  3. Show banners on your website

    Add your website and create ad slots. An operator reviews each new website before it serves. Then paste the embed code into your pages. See install ads on a website.

  4. Earn credits

    Each valid ad shown on your website earns 1 credit. New members get a starter rate: for the first 25,000 ads shown on your websites, every 10 shown earn 11 credits. After that, the rate is 1 credit per ad shown. Credits for each hour are added shortly after that hour ends.

  5. Spend credits on your banners

    Create a campaign and set its total shows. That many credits move into the campaign budget, and each time your banner is shown on a member's site, one of them is used. See run a campaign.

What counts

Earns credits

A valid ad shown: a member's approved banner delivered into one of your ad slots for a real visitor. Each one earns 1 credit, or 11 credits for every 10 during the starter rate.

Never earns credits

  • Requests from bots and other invalid requests
  • Traffic flagged as suspected
  • House ads, the network's own filler banners
  • Empty slots, where no banner was available
  • Requests that do not come from a browser page (no browser Origin header)
  • Your own banners shown on your own websites
